The client was seeking to replace a dilapidated small 3 bed dwelling in secluded green belt land with a new 4 bed dwelling. This presented the opportunity to create a new property sympathetic to the surrounding context and aim for high environmental standards. The design was softened with the use of timber cladding and sedum roofs as well as acknowledging the existing properties in the area by using red brick up to first floor level. The design is focused around the views from and oriented to maximise sunlight.
